Did the veteran win any trophies with the Spanish national team?
It’s key to remember that Sergio Busquets made his debut for Spain back in 2009.
As a result, it is virtually unimaginable to separate both Busquets and Spain at this point.
During his international career, the 34-year-old was part of perhaps the greatest national side in recent memory.
Operating as a defensive midfielder, Busquets was part of the Spain side that won the European Championships in 2008 as well as 2012, whilst also lifting the World Cup trophy in 2010.
Alongside Xavi and Iniesta, the Barcelona legend formed a midfield trio at international level that remains unrivalled to this day.
Who will replace the legend after his retirement?
It is likely that Rodri will be drafted as the replacement for Sergio Busquets for the Spanish side.
The Manchester City midfielder is classed as the best No.6 in the world by many, and operates in a similar mould to the Barcelona icon.
However, it is easier said than done to replace a player of the calibre of Sergio Busquets.
As Busquets has announced his retirement for Spain, all one can say is that his legacy remains unforgettable.
