It’s FA Cup final day, and while there’s all the usual excitement around the match, the return of fans to stands is equally as exciting, but how many fans are at Wembley today?
Leicester vs Chelsea is acting as one of the pilot events for the return of supporters to sporting events after almost 18 months of absence, and this will be one of the bigger events we’ve seen.
How many fans are at the FA Cup final?

The FA Cup final will have 21,000 fans in attendance, which is a huge increase on the 4,000 supporters we saw attending the semi-finals.
Of course, in today’s world things aren’t as simple as turning up and buying a ticket, supporters who want to go to Wembley today have had to jump through a couple of hoops to secure their place at the final.
Interestingly fans in attendance at Wembley will not have to prove they have been vaccinated, but they will have to have provided a negative Covid test.

When will fans return to football?
The FA Cup final isn’t long before supporters begin to return to all stadiums.
As a part of the UK’s roadmap out of lockdown, some supporters will be allowed to return to stadia from May 17th, while if all goes to plan everything should go back to normality on June 21st.
Regardless of the result of Leicester vs Chelsea, watching a game with supporters in attendance after so long will make this a spectacle worth remembering.
