It’s finally here. Euro 2020 has begun, and England kick off their campaign on Sunday against Croatia, but how many fans are at England vs Croatia?
Sadly, due to ongoing coronavirus restrictions, we’re still not able to have full-capacity crowds at football matches in England, but there are a limited number of spectators at Wembley for this one.
How many fans are at England vs Croatia?
After the May 17th light lifting of lockdown restrictions, a certain number of fans will be allowed back into football grounds, as we saw with the FA Cup Final last month.
So, how many fans are at the England game on Sunday?
England’s Euros campaign will be no different, and for the games played at Wembley, 22,500 supporters will be allowed into the stadium to watch the Three Lions.
This is a slight increase from the 21,000 we saw at the FA Cup final, and a huge upturn from the 4,000 we saw at the FA Cup semi-finals, so we’re certainly moving in the right direction.
When will Wembley be full again?
Wembley should have been allowed to welcome back a 90,000 capacity on June 21st when all social distancing measures are supposed to come to an end.
However, recent reports suggest that this date will be pushed back a few weeks as cases begin to rise again, but at the time of writing, we’ve had no confirmation on that front from the government.
Hopefully, we’ll get to see Wembley back to full capacity before the European Championships are over, but right now, that doesn’t seem to be a certainty.
