- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
Christian Eriksen has rebuffed interest from Turkey and the UAE to remain with Manchester United for the rest of the season, sources have confirmed to HITC.
The 31-year-old joined Manchester United in 2022 on a free transfer after his brief spell at Brentford following his return to football when he collapsed at Euro 2020.
Since then, Christian Eriksen has been a regular performer in the Premier League, including helping Manchester United win the League Cup last season and secure Champions League football.
Galatasaray were keen to land the Denmark international, whilst HITC also understands a number of sides in the UAE were keen, including Sharjah.
However, HITC has been told that Manchester United, and the club’s coaching staff, are happy for Christian Eriksen to stay and feel he can still contribute, whilst the player himself is happy in Manchester and not desperate to move.
His current deal at Old Trafford expires in 2025 and has played just over 1000 minutes of football this term, with a knee injury keeping him on the sidelines for a brief period.

Christian Eriksen in England and Italy
The quick-thinking playmaker first made a name for himself at Tottenham Hotspur under Mauricio Pochettino, including reaching the Champions League final.
Spurs would constantly secure Champions League football, with the likes of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, Dele Alli and Eriksen consistent performers for the team.
But with the Danish star craving trophies, he left the London club in 2020 and joined Inter where, after a slow start, he would go on to win the Serie A title under the stewardship of Antonio Conte.
Those trophies have continued in Manchester United colours, and with Erik ten Hag’s side one of the favourites to win the FA Cup, then that’s another trophy he can add to his cabinet.
Added to Manchester United wanting to maintain Champions League football for next season, they will have to beat fourth-placed Aston Villa on Sunday at Villa Park if they want to close that eight-point gap.
