According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Dani Salas will join Leeds United’s scouting team from Sevilla in the coming weeks as part of a massive shakeup in the recruitment department.
Since Andrea Radrizzani became the club’s owner after buying own Massimo Cellino, the Italian has already installed Victor Orta as the new director of football – Orta himself another former Sevilla employee.

Both men worked under Ramon Rodriguez Verdejo at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium during a time that the Andalusian club enjoyed some huge hits in the transfer market.
Verdejo, known as Monchi, was appointed sporting director at Sevilla in 2000 and oversaw a change in their transfer policy that allowed them identify talent before other big clubs and then sell them for huge profits.
Since then he has signed and sold the likes of Dani Alves, Adriano, Ivan Rakitic, Julio Baptista and Carlos Bacca at a massive profit. Youth products such as Sergio Ramos, Jesus Navas, Alberto Moreno and Jose Antonio Reyes have also been sold to put the club well and truly in the black.

When Monchi arrived Sevilla were in financial strife and reeling from relegation from La Liga; now they have won five Europa League trophies in the past decade.
Both Orta and Salas are students of the ‘transfer wizard’ and will now be looking to implement similar ideas at Elland Road, which looking at the list of names above, will probably be greeted with open arms by all involved at the Yorkshire club.
