Reports have linked the Toronto Raptors to interest in Dallas Mavericks center Anthony Davis, who could be moved this summer.

The Raptors are said to be one of several teams monitoring Davis’s situation, with the Detroit Pistons and Atlanta Hawks also believed to be exploring trade possibilities.

The Mavericks, coming off a disappointing season and having recently parted ways with general manager Nico Harrison, may be heading towards a rebuild focused on Cooper Flagg. In that context, moving Davis could become part of a broader roster overhaul.

Davis’s injury history is well documented, but there’s no question about his impact when he’s fit. He remains one of the league’s top big men and would bring an immediate presence to any team looking for frontcourt help.

Toronto looked to have turned a corner with a nine-game winning streak, but that momentum has faded fast. Since then, they’ve dropped four straight and six of their last seven.

The need for change is clear if they want to get back on track.

The Raptors took a big swing at last season’s deadline by bringing in Brandon Ingram. This year, pairing Davis with Scottie Barnes could be the next move to push them forward.

Per Grant Afseth of NBA Analysis Network, league figures believe “the cleanest basketball fit” for Davis is the Raptors.

What a Toronto Raptors deal for Anthony Davis could look like

The Raptors have the contracts in place to match salary requirements in a trade for Davis.

A potential deal would likely center around either RJ Barrett or Immanuel Quickley, with Jakob Poeltl and draft picks rounding out the offer.

Barrett is the more probable inclusion, given his strong season and the Mavericks’ potential interest in adding him to their roster.

It’s certainly a gamble, especially considering Davis’ injury history, but it’s one that could provide real upside if things break right.
