Terry Gibson has taken to Twitter to express his shock at Tottenham Hotspur head coach Jose Mourinho’s decision not to include Gareth Bale in the starting lineup against Aston Villa.
Tottenham have got the better of Villa 2-0 away from home at Villa Park in the Premier League this evening.
Carlos Vinicius put Spurs in the lead after 29 minutes, and Harry Kane doubled the advantage from the penalty spot midway through the second half.
Bale, on loan from Real Madrid, did not start the match and did not even come on as a substitute.
Former Tottenham forward Gibson, who is now a La Liga expert, has expressed his shock on Twitter that Bale did not start against Villa this evening.
Bale was not at his best against Arsenal in the North London derby last weekend, although he showed good form leading up to it.
The Wales international winger has been in and out of the team, and that cannot be good for him in terms of maintaining his form.
However, Spurs won without Bale against Villa, so credit must be given to Mourinho for his team selection.
