The Boston Celtics hit the jackpot after drafting Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum in back-to-back NBA Drafts.
Both Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum slowly grew into leaders and stars for the Boston Celtics over the last nine seasons.
Despite winning an NBA Championship together, the Celtics front office decided to separate them after trading Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for a trade package around Paul George.

Jayson Tatum says goodbye to Jaylen Brown
Since the trade was announced, many Celtics fans had been waiting for Tatum to break the silence on the blockbuster trade.
While Tatum delayed, he recently posted an IG story where he wrote a short paragraph about his time with Brown in Boston.
“9 years! Forever grateful for all that we accomplished together, for pushing me to be a better player. From first-round exits to winning a chip together, I’m thankful for it all,” Tatum wrote.
He added, “Nothing but love and respect for you as a player and as a person! Looking forward to seeing how you attack this next chapter of your career and wish nothing but the best for you! Continue to be special!”
On the surface, it seemed like Tatum shared gratitude for Brown’s accomplishments as a Celtic, but the team’s fanbase felt it was a forced farewell message as it lacked emotion.
