Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after Harvey Elliott shared an update on his recovery from injury, after a gruesome ankle problem.

What’s the story?

Well, the 18-year-old was left in agony after a challenge from Pascal Struijk during the 3-0 win at Elland Road on September 12th.

Elliott was found to have suffered a dislocation of the ankle, and looks set to miss a huge chunk of the season.

The Daily Mail believe Liverpool’s No.67 will be absent for six months, and it could’ve been longer if not for the quick thinking of club physios.

It was crucial that Elliott’s ankle was popped back in while on the pitch.

Now, the £4.3m man has posted a photo of himself riding an exercise bike, and he seems to have no cast either.

It seems like remarkably quick progress, although that was to be expected from a player who’s still so young.

Could Harvey Elliott be like a new signing for Liverpool?

We’re aware of how much some fans hate this phrase, especially when Liverpool haven’t been the most active club in the market recently.

However, if Liverpool can get Elliott back out onto the pitch around February, then he truly will be like a new signing.

Liverpool are expected to be in a title race this season, and those early months of 2022 will be crucial as legs become tired and minds drain.

In that respect, having the youthful exuberance of Elliott to come back into the squad will be a welcome bonus.

For now, let’s see what the Liverpool fans on Twitter have been saying about the photo…
