Wolverhampton Wanderers were linked with a move for Ashley Fletcher in the summer – could they renew their interest in the West Ham United striker next month?

How is he getting on?
The former Manchester United man has perhaps received more exposure than he would have anticipated since quitting Old Trafford for the Hammers in July. That said, he has been restricted to mostly substitute appearances so far and has done little to deter manager Slaven Bilic from seeking alternatives this winter.
Do Wolves still need him?
Yes. No Wolves striker has scored a league goal since August, and Paul Lambert is expected to add to his front line when the transfer window reopens.

Can they get him in January?
West Ham are unlikely to want to sell Fletcher so soon and a loan deal is perhaps Wolves’ best bet. This, however, relies on the Hammers’ ability to secure the top-class striker they desire – which has been something of an Achilles heel in the past. Leeds United are also said to be keen, but the prospect of regular football could swing a deal in Wolves’ favour.
