Marcelo Brozovic was linked with a swap deal at West Ham United this past summer.

Gianluca Di Marzio reported in August that there was a chance of West Ham United defender Angelo Ogbonna trading places with Marcelo Brozovic at Inter Milan in a swap deal.
Ultimately the deal never materialised but West Ham might have wished it did, if this season is anything to go by.

The Croatia international has never scored more than four goals in a single Serie A season but he looks set to smash that for his best-ever individual campaign this time around.
The reported Irons target has managed two goals in three starts for Inter so far this season and it would be a surprise if the midfielder did not end up with a personal best in the goalscoring stakes come May.

Ogbonna, who signed a West Ham extension during the summer, was not keen on the swap according to Gianluca Di Marzio, but the Italy international hasn’t been a regular fixture in the Hammers’ first XI this season.
The former Juventus centre-back has been an unused sub in the Irons’ last two Premier League games, with Jose Fonte and Winston Reid forming a very decent partnership and you wonder whether he regrets not returning to Italy.
It should be noted that the report came out on August 29, two days before the transfer window closed, so it could just be another product of the over-worked rumour mill.
