Klich left Leeds in January to return to the Netherlands with FC Utrecht.
Leeds United midfielder Mateusz Klich failed to make an impression at Elland Road since his £1.5million summer switch from FC Twente, and returned to the Dutch Eredivisie in January on loan.
The 27-year-old was hardly used by former boss Thomas Christiansen, and the Spaniard sent him on loan to FC Utrecht last month in order to give the 10-time Poland international game time.
He managed just 10 appearances for the Yorkshire giants, with only half of those coming in the Championship as the likes of Kalvin Phillips, Eunan O’Kane, Ronaldo Vieira and now new signing Adam Forshaw are preferred.
The former Wolfsburg midfielder will be looking to show Leeds what they are missing as the Whites go on a winless run of seven games by starring for Utrecht, but how has he been getting on?
The answer is, unremarkable. Left on the substitutes bench for his first two games, Klich finally made his debut during a 2-2 draw against Excelsior but was removed after the hour mark.
He was given his second appearance on Wednesday night, playing 74 minutes of his loan side’s 1-0 win over Sparta Rotterdam before being replaced.
With two and a half years remaining on his Elland Road contract, it remains to be seen if Klich has a future at Elland Road under new manager Paul Heckingbottom.
But if he is to shine in the white of Leeds, he will certainly need to have a bigger impact than what he already has at Utrecht ahead of what will be an interesting summer transfer window regarding his future.
