Leeds sold Mirco Antenucci to Italian side SPAL in the summer of 2016.

Former Leeds United forward Mirco Antenucci continued his excellent 2017-18 form on Sunday with his seventh goal of the season as current side SPAL beat Crotone away from home.
Antenucci, 33, moved to Serie A minnows SPAL and was instrumental in helping them gain promotion to the top tier of Italian football last season by scoring a huge 20 goals 39 games, as well as chipping in with seven assists.
The Italian’s form has hardly faltered though since returning to the top flight, as he continues to spearhead SPAL’s fight against the drop this season with seven goals and five assists in just 20 Serie A appearances.

He opened the scoring in a match where both sides played as though they were fighting for survival, showing his predatory instinct to instantly control a low cross before firing into the roof of the Crotone net.
The former Ternana and Torino striker, who was also captaining the SPAL side, looked dangerous as he dropped into the number 10 role to receive the ball and link-up with striker Alberto Paloschi throughout.

A controversial character at Leeds, Antenucci played with his heart on his sleeve throughout his two-year stay at Elland Road in which he scored 19 goals in 80 league and cup appearances – 30 of which were substitute appearances.
Now, he is showing just what he can do and simultaneously making Leeds fans rue their club’s decision to let him go by starring in the Serie A and even scoring goals against the likes of Lazio, Torino and Genoa.
