Rangers cut short Aaron Nemane’s loan after a slow start at Ibrox.
Rangers fans had high hopes for young talent Aaron Nemane after signing the young winger from Manchester City in the summer.
But the 20-year-old could not establish himself in the team at Ibrox, failing to win over either Pedro Caixinha or Graeme Murty.
City wasted no time finding a new club for him, sending Nemane out to Dutch side Go Ahead Eagles.
His success there has certainly been mixed, but Nemane can feel positive for having moved to Holland.
At Rangers he managed a paltry 38 minutes of first team action in the league, spread across five different matches, barely on the pitch long enough to register more than a few touches.
Since signing with Go Ahead in January he has managed 423 minutes of action.
It may be in Holland’s second division, but for Nemane this does not matter, it is an upgrade on playing for Rangers’ development squad, which is where he would have been had the Gers not cut his loan short.
Nemane actually had a very bright start personally at Go Ahead, he scored on his debut back in January, although this was tempered by the fact his side lost 5-1.
Over the past fortnight he has been back being used as a substitute after beginning his spell at the club as a starter, and Go Ahead are unbeaten in their last three games.
Nemane’s prospects of making it at Manchester City don’t appear realistic at all, but after his nightmare spell at Rangers, he can enter the summer feeling positive after getting weekly first team minutes at a competitive level in Holland.
