Speaking on the Talking Transfers Podcast, Graeme Bailey has been discussing Harry Kane’s Tottenham Hotspur future amid links to Bayern Munich.
The German club are once again being linked with signing the England captain in the coming months, and Bailey has now suggested that an interesting deal could be on the cards.
Indeed, the reporter did tout a potential move to Bayern that could involve a buy-back clause in a few years’ time.

Kane could leave and come back
Bailey shared what he knows about this situation and suggested a potential buy-back clause for Spurs.
“Bayern Munich still hold an interest, they haven’t found their Lewandowski replacement yet. It’s really interesting this situation and Bayern still think, that in an ideal world, they would sign Harry Kane this summer,” Bailey said.
“The thing with Kane is that he has a huge wage packet to go along with his fee and clubs do have to consider this. Would Daniel Levy sell him to a Premier League rival? There have been a lot of talks about Man United over the past 10 years. Would he rather him go to Bayern Munich, maybe with a buy-back to come back?”
“The line we’re getting from Tottenham is that they want him to sign a new contract, they’re fairly confident from what we gather from that end. But how can they be?”
“I think Kane may look at it like that where he could have two or three years at Bayern and then come back and get that Premier League record possibly, I think that’s how he’s looking at it.”
Best of both worlds
Kane making this move to Bayern only to return to Spurs would give him the best of both worlds.
He’d be able to stack up his trophy cabinet by picking up a couple of league titles – and potentially a Champions League, with Bayern, before returning to Spurs to once and for all hunt down Alan Shearer’s Premier League goalscoring record.
Bailey isn’t saying that such a move is on the cards, but don’t be surprised if this sort of transfer is mooted at some point.
