Michael Owen was left stunned by Crysencio Summerville’s goal during Leeds United’s 4-3 defeat against Tottenham on Saturday.
The 21-year-old has scored in four Premier League games on the bounce, including opening the scoring yesterday, with Owen calling Summerville’s touch and finish as ‘really, really exceptional’.
It all came after Brendan Aaronson’s through ball to his Leeds teammate, but the ball was behind Summerville as he was running through on goal.

That meant that the thriving youngster had to improvise and flick the ball into his path before remaining composed, keeping the ball away from Eric Dier and opening the scoring.
It was a brilliant piece of play from the Leeds star and Owen was full of praise for the player, despite his team falling to a defeat, as he told Premier League Productions (12/11/22 at 3:55 pm).
“I just think this is such a good goal,” said Owen. “Look at that for a touch. The ball is behind him. He takes one lovely touch with the outside of his foot, then another one to keep him away from the defender and finishes it brilliantly.
“This is a really hard chance. He’s behind the defender in many ways when he gets the ball. I mean how he does that is really, really exceptional.”

SUMMERVILLE IS A SHINING LIGHT
Jesse Marsch’s side have been indifferent this season, but a recent shining light has been their new Dutch star.
With Patrick Bamford having a continual battle with injuries, Summerville has now pushed ahead of the Englishman in the attacking pecking order.
Now it’s a case of continuing this form when players return from the break ahead of the 2022 World Cup.
