Speaking on Kammy and Ben’s Proper Football Podcast, Mark Noble has named the best player he ever played with at West Ham.
The ex-Hammers captain had a storied career and he shared the pitch with some absolute superstars.
From Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano to Declan Rice, Noble worked with some truly elite players during his playing career.
However, according to the midfielder, the best player he ever worked alongside was Dimitri Payet, stating that no footballer he’d played with could produce moments like he could.

Payet the best
Noble hailed the Frenchman as the best player he’d ever worked with.
“For moments, it’s Dimi, Moments in games where you think how has he done that again. That free-kick against Crystal Palace, those moments separate the boys and he was just incredible,” Noble said.
Magic
In his pomp there wasn’t a player in the Premier League who could compare with Dimitri Payet.
Every single time he stepped onto the pitch, he created magic, and he was a huge part in West Ham’s European race in their final season at the Boleyn Ground.
Yes, he didn’t last as long as many would have hoped in east London, but during that short period, West Ham genuinely had one of the best footballers in Europe on their books.
The Hammers have had these mercurial talents over the years. The likes of Paolo Di Canio, Tevez and Joe Cole, but Payet stands out even amongst that crop of players.
At the age of 35, Payet is still going strong over in Ligue 1, and while he played less than two full seasons in England, he certainly made his mark on the Premier League.
