Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has raved about Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain ahead of the match against Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United this week, as quoted in The Liverpool Echo.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has been linked with a move to Manchester United from Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

TalkSPORT reported in June that United are considering a move for the former Arsenal midfielder.

The report came from well-known and well-respected journalist Alex Crook, who is a Manchester United fan.

Crook added that the Red Devils are willing to pay £10 million in transfer fees for the 28-year-old.

Interestingly, Liverpool will take on Manchester United in a pre-season friendly match in Thailand this week.

And ahead of the game, Klopp has spoken highly of the English midfielder, while analysing the options he has in the middle of the park.

Liverpool boss Klopp on Manchester United-linked Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Klopp told The Liverpool Echo: “Oxlade-Chamberlain, he played the first part of the season quite a lot, and in January played different positions. Yes, he didn’t play a lot after that but [remember] how good he was.”

Could a transfer happen?

In our opinion, Liverpool are unlikely to sell Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Manchester United in the summer transfer window, especially for just £10 million.

After all, the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners paid £35 million in transfer fees for the English midfielder when they signed him from Arsenal.

Now, of course, the midfielder has had injury problems in recent years and has not been at his best, but we do not think that Liverpool will let him for as little as £10 million, especially to their bitter rivals.
