Alex Iwobi has told BBC Sport that Everton team-mate Dominic Calvert-Lewin is even better than a lot of people believe, after seeing him up close at Finch Farm over the past 18 months.
The 24-year-old has taken his game to new heights since Carlo Ancelotti became Everton boss.
This season, Calvert-Lewin has managed 19 goals and set up another four from 32 games across all competition.
Fourteen of his 19-goal haul have come in the Premier League, which makes him among the most prolific Englishmen in the top flight.
It’s quite a staggering upturn in fortunes under the legendary Italian coach and the football world is finally seeing what he can become, but Everton team-mate Iwobi, who joined the Toffees from Arsenal in 2019, has intimated that the former Sheffield United attacker can still get even better, based on how he trains.
He told BBC Sport: “I train with Dominic every day so I see how good he is. I see he is able to do a lot of things that people won’t notice.”
Don’t forget, Calvert-Lewin could be a Champions League player next season.
