Goga Bitadze has responded directly to Luka Doncic’s accusation of crossing the line, offering his own version of what was said during the heated Lakers vs Magic clash.

The incident led to a technical foul for Doncic and pushed him into suspension territory, quickly becoming one of the game’s biggest talking points.

Now, Bitadze has addressed the claim and attempted to clarify what actually happened on the court.

Goga Bitadze responds to Luka Doncic’s trash talk claim

Goga Bitadze addressed Luka Doncic’s accusation by explaining the exchange in Serbian and disputing the suggestion that family was targeted.

“He just said some inappropriate things in the Serbian language. I played in Serbia and I understand. I don’t know if he knew I understood what he said, so I just said it back.

“It was nothing towards his family or anybody. His family, I really, truly respect them,” Bitadze said.

Bitadze’s account directly challenges Doncic’s version, framing the moment as typical on-court trash talk rather than something personal.

He suggested the exchange escalated because both players understood the language, removing any barrier that might usually limit that kind of interaction.

Goga Bitadze denies family insult in Luka Doncic incident

Goga Bitadze also addressed the specific allegation involving Luka Doncic’s family, making it clear he rejects that version of events entirely.

“I have all the respect for Luka and what he has done. I really respect everybody’s family. Where I come from, it’s really sacred and we really respect each other’s family.

“I would never directly say that,” Bitadze further explained.

That stance introduces a clear conflict between the two accounts, with the league now left to determine whether further action is required.

The situation is significant given Doncic’s technical foul count, with any upheld decision carrying direct consequences for the Lakers.

It also highlights how quickly verbal exchanges can shift from competitive edge to disciplinary issue, especially when language and intent are disputed.
