Tottenham Hotspur’s game plan against Bayern Munich did not feature conceding seven goals.

Ruthless finishing from the German side left Spurs stunned, even despite taking the lead.

Joshua Kimmich, Robert Lewandowski and a double from Serge Gnabry saw Bayern recover to lead 4-1 before Spurs pulled a goal back from the penalty spot. Gnabry then completed his hat-trick late on and Bayern ran riot, winning 7-2.

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Gary Lineker had plenty to say on the loss.

Spurs were beaten by the better side on the night, and Lineker praised Bayern’s finishing.

He also tried to point out the one silver lining for Spurs, that Arsenal crazily decided to leave Gnabry leave.

Spurs now face another uphill task to reach the knockout stages.

They have just one point from two games, and end the group with an away trip to Bayern. The only consolation could be that the German side may have qualified already by then.

Next up are back to back games against Red Star Belgrade, who beat Olympiakos 3-1 last night.
