WrestleMania 40 is arguably the greatest of them all and a lot of it was down to The Rock’s return to the ring.
Coming back into the mix as ‘The Final Boss’, Rocky partnered with fellow Bloodline member Roman Reigns on night one in Philadelphia before playing a big role in the dramatic finish on night two as Cody Rhodes won the title.
For The Rock, being in that WWE ring is always his natural environment despite his movie stardom.
Nevertheless, he also knows that you can’t simply go into big main events completely cold.
Indeed, according to one of the men who helped him train ahead of WM40, Curt Hawkins, it was quite the experience getting Rocky back in shape.

Curt Hawkins explains why training with The Rock was so good
Hawkins – real name Brian Myers – spent many years as a mid-carder in WWE and was hand-picked by Triple H to help get The Rock back in top shape.
The Rock’s schedule is extremely busy, but that didn’t stop him fitting in the work.
And speaking to Chris Van Vliet, Hawkins has admitted what was so impressive about the megastar.
“It was an unbelievable experience because Dwayne’s schedule is something else,” Hawkins said.
“We were like his personal crash test dummies. They would set up a WWE ring wherever he was filming, we did one in New Orleans, one in Miami, wherever. But he couldn’t be any cooler man.
“I was around him and I was like this is why this guy is so successful, you just see it. My big takeaway was like he would call the spots but then he would call the pops as well that he’d get from each spot. So he’s like measuring how much time to take because he knows they’re going to go crazy for whatever he does.”
Quite whether we’ll see another return for the Rock at some point, remains to be seen.
For many, there does feel a bit of a gap in terms of how the Final Boss character simply went away, especially after playing such a big part in getting John Cena to turn heel.
