The Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has once again come out to deny reports about his side and the Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster.
Palace have been strongly linked with a move for Brewster throughout the summer, with The Daily Mail reporting on Sunday that the Eagles have emerged as frontrunners for the 20-year-old’s signature.
And Sky Sports claimed on Monday that Liverpool had received a bid of £19 million plus a further £6m in add-ons from their Premier League rivals.
But Parish was quick to tweet the following response.
The action saw Sky amend its story, stating instead that Crystal Palace are ‘prepared’ to make the aforementioned offer.
But Parish, for a second time, has poured cold water on the speculation, tweeting:
Liverpool are reported to have spent in excess of £60m on Thiago Alcantara and Diogo Jota, despite talk that the Reds were operating under a higher budget this summer.
And it is likely that fringe players such as Brewster, who has appeared just four times for Jurgen Klopp’s team, could be sold to balance the books between now and next month’s transfer deadline..

Liverpool, Crystal Palace or neither – where will Brewster be plying his this season?
