Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to pinpoint one ‘baffling’ moment involving Willian in the recent 3-1 win over Southampton at St Mary’s.
A 10-second clip emerged on Twitter yesterday which showed the Brazil international jogging alongside Nicolas Pepe in the 76th minute.
The Ivory Coast international beats a number of Southampton players while on a mesmeric run, but ultimately loses possession.
However, as the Arsenal fans below point out, Willian should’ve given him an option down the left.
The former Chelsea attacker can be seen jogging to the left of Pepe in acres of space, as the likes of James Ward-Prowse, Jan Bednarek and Stuart Armstrong are drawn to the £72 million man.

If Willian simply sprints into the space, then he could’ve been played through on goal by Pepe with one simple through-ball.
One supporter below has portrayed the situation perfectly with an edited image, showing just how promising an attack it could’ve been if he was slightly higher up the pitch.
Despite the fact that Arsenal were winning 3-1 at this point, we must admit that it’s frustrating to see Willian fail to make that run.

This is the Premier League, where anything can happen.
If Southampton had come back to draw 3-3, we presume this incident might be under the microscope a bit more.
Let’s see what the Arsenal fans on Twitter have been saying about the footage…
