It’s fair to say that some Celtic on Twitter aren’t exactly jumping for joy over hearing the Gordon Strachan rumour.

According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic are intereste in bringing the 64-year-old back to Parkhead as a director.

The Record added that it would be a ‘behind the scenes’ role for the former Hoops boss.

Many of the Bhoys’ big decision haven’t been inspiring much confidence as of late, having waited five months to replace Neil Lennon and then hired Ange Postecoglou after failing to get Eddie Howe.

Here’s how some fans of the Parkhead club reacted to the possibility of Strachan returning:

The way things are going, next season could be either very good or very bad for Celtic.

It doesn’t seem like there’s going to be an in-between option as Rangers look to defend their Premiership title – and honestly, they’ll be massive favourites at the moment.

What a difference a year makes because this time 12 months ago, Celtic fans were dreaming of winning their 10th successive Premiership title on the spin.

But the wheels came off in spectacular fashion during an abysmal history bid.

Strachan, in this role, won’t have that much power to massively affect things on the field it does not seem but, by the same token, his presence can’t do much harm.
