It’s looking increasingly like Liverpool pulled Sheffield United’s pants down with their deal for Rhian Brewster.

Liverpool sold their promising young striker to the Blades for £23 million during the summer.

But the 20-year-old hitman has now gone 16 games without a goal for United after drawing another blank on Saturday.

Chris Wilder’s side moved into the fifth round of the FA Cup by beating Plymouth 2-1 but, despite starting up front, Brewster, who began his burgeoning career on Merseyside, failed to find the net.

The young man is looking low on confidence during what’s proving a very lengthy barren spell in front of goal.

And here’s how some neutral fans reacted to Brewster’s performance – and the fact that Liverpool picked up such a major fee.

Okay things aren’t going great for Brewster, but it’s worth pointing out that he’s a 20-year-old striker in the Premier League’s worst team, going by league position.

There’s a lot of very talented number nines who would also struggle in this Sheffield United and although it looks like Liverpool have pulled off an immense piece of business, Brewster can and probably will get a hell of a lot better.
