The Elland Road summer signing made his debut for the Whites U23s of Carlos Corberan on Friday night.

Leeds United summer signing Josh Galloway made his debut for the Whites Under-23s on Friday night as he was drafted into the starting XI by Carlos Corberan for their Premier League Cup clash with Birmingham City U23s at Tadcaster Albion.
The Elland Road side announced the arrival of the 17-year-old midfielder from League Two side Carlisle United at the end of August as he agreed and penned scholarship terms with the Championship club (official Leeds website).
Galloway’s move was criticised by Carlisle boss Steven Pressley, who was disappointed at the “system” which “has created a situation now where you have young players who I don’t even think have to earn a contract and the club are under pressure to give them contracts” (News & Star).
Though a midfielder, Corberan utilised the teenager at right-back for his first appearance in a Leeds shirt and he had a decent enough performance prior to being replaced by Dane Burlace in the 75th minute.

In the words of Leeds Live, he was “very keen to get forward and spent plenty of time further up the field than winger Niall Huggins”, and was given a 6 out of 10.
Although his final ball left a bit to be desired, it was overall a fairly lacklustre performance from the whole Leeds U23s team, who struggled against the Blues in the first half.
Even though the visitors went down to ten men not long before the interval, the Whites still couldn’t find the breakthrough as the game ended in a 0-0 draw.
