Declan Rice has taken to Twitter to reveal his love for Tomáš Souček, after the Czech Republic international helped West Ham beat Everton 1-0.

It was the £67,308-a-week man’s 86th minute strike which sealed all three points for David Moyes against the Scot’s former side.

Aaron Cresswell drilled the ball goalwards, where it then took a fortunate ricochet before Souček slotted past Jordan Pickford.

After full-time, the former Slavia Prague maestro gave an interview to BT Sport.

He said the festive period has been unusual for him as he usually has three weeks off to eat potato salad in his native Czech Republic!

Rice quote-tweeted BT Sport’s interview, along with the following caption.

Netting the late winner wasn’t the only good thing Souček did against the Toffees.

As WhoScored shows, the 25-year-old also won four aerial duels, one tackle and made two interceptions.

West Ham’s No.28 also recorded one clearance and one block, while he won two freekicks for his side at Goodison Park.

Unsurprisingly, he was named as WhoScored‘s Man of the Match, earning a match rating of 8.10 for his efforts.

Souček now has five Premier League goals this season, more than any other West Ham player has netted this term.
