Queens Park Rangers have shown glimmers of improvement lately, but are struggling to stay consistent.
QPR manager Ian Holloway
It’s been a fairly grim old season for Queens Park Rangers supporters, who have once again had to watch their team flounder around mid-table in the Championship, and even on occasion look like being dragged into a relegation battle.
Despite hopes that QPR would soon come right under former boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, the Hoops were forced to make a change late last year, bringing in former boss Ian Holloway for a second spell in charge.
Since Holloway’s return to Loftus Road, Queens Park Rangers form has, at times, shown signs of improvements. After bringing in a number of new signings in January, Holloway has added some attacking threat to this side, such as former Fulham striker Matt Smith, and have starting scoring goals once again.
Recent wins against Wigan Athletic and over Birmingham City have shown Holloway is starting to get it right. However, after losing their last game 2-1 to Preston North End, the inconsistencies are still there for all to see.

So how can Holloway fix QPR’s inconsistency problem? The first step would be to stick to one system, giving his players the time they need to adapt to a certain style. Since his return, Holloway has employed a number of systems and variations of the 3-4-3 style, made popular by Chelsea this season.
Ian Holloway could also help fix QPR’s inconsistency problem by sticking to the same eleven. With quite a large squad to go through, the Queens Park Rangers has understandably wanted to take a look at all his players over the last few weeks.
However, Holloway should have had enough time now to properly assess his squad, and now needs to give them the time to prove they can do it week in, week out, rather than in bursts off and on the bench.
