The former Boston Celtics and current Philadelphia 76ers star Jaylen Brown attended the 2026 World Cup Quarter-Final game between France and Morocco at Gillette Stadium Foxborough, Massachusetts.

As the two teams competed for a semi-final spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Brown was in the suites when he was spotted on the Jumbotron.

Even after the shocking trade that happened last week, the Boston fans were happy to get a glimpse of the NBA star.

Boston crowd gives Jaylen Brown a nice ovation

When Brown was shown on the big screen during the game, his appearance was met with a nice ovation and applause from the fans inside the stadium.

The 29-year-old smiled and applauded back as the crowd continued to cheer for him.

Boston reporter Chris Mason shared the moment on social media and described it as a “nice ovation” for Brown.

Even after the much-talked about move from the Celtics to the Philadelphia 76ers, it was good to see that Boston fans still have plenty of love for the five-time NBA All-Star.

Brown watched France secure a 2-0 win over Morocco after second-half goals from Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele.

With this win over Morocco, France move into the World Cup semi-finals, where they will face the winner of Spain vs. Belgium.

Jaylen Brown left Boston after 10 seasons

After joining the Celtics as the third overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, Brown spent 10 seasons with the franchise. He was instrumental in their 18th NBA championship win in the 2024 season.

Brown was named the Eastern Conference Finals MVP and went on to win the NBA Finals MVP award after the Celtics defeated the Dallas Mavericks.

He delivered his best regular season stats in the 2025-26 season, averaging 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game.

The trade ended his on-court partnership with Celtics’ star Jayson Tatum but the reaction at the World Cup shows that Brown still remains popular with the Boston fans.
