Clinton Morrison has expressed his shock on BBC Sport at Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey scoring against Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The former Crystal Palace forward cannot believe that no Leicester player could stop the Ghana international defensive midfielder from scoring frm an Arsenal corner.

It was a simple corner, and it was a simple header from Partey, who headed the ball home.

The Arsenal midfielder was also denied by the frame of the Leicester goal a few minutes later.

Morrison said on BBC Sport: “It sums up Leicester all season. Defending set-pieces they have not been good enough.

“How can Thomas Partey make a run across whoever is marking him and just head it into the near post?

“It’s a great ball but whoever is working on Leicester’s set-pieces, it’s not good enough.”

Thomas Partey a big player for Arsenal

In our view, Partey is a big player for Arsenal and will be crucial in the Gunners’ quest to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.

The Ghanaian has not always been at his best, but when on form, he is simply brilliant.

Arsenal are doing well at the moment, and manager Mikel Arteta will be pleased with his players.

There are no major injury concerns at Arsenal either.

The Gunners can now concentre on only the Premier League, and that could give them the edge over the likes of Manchester United and West Ham United – if, of course, they progress further in Europe.
