Presidents of the United States have often loved their golf but few have loved the game quite as much as Barack Obama and Donald Trump.

Everyone in the world pretty much knows that Trump is obsessed with the game and he has even boasted that he could do a deal between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf should he choose.

Of course, looking back at former presidents, Barack Obama is also a well known lover of golf.

But when it comes to who has the upper hand out of Obama and Trump, just who is the better golfer?

Well, it’s pretty clear there would be one winner.

Barack Obama and Donald Trump’s golf handicaps

We’ve all seen Donald Trump play golf by now and it’s safe to say that he’s pretty impressive in the main.

It’s been claimed that Trump’s handicap has been as low as 2.8 and compared to Obama, there’s quite the difference.

According to comments from Obama himself, he was around the 13 mark while he was in charge of the USA, helped by the sheer amount of golf he managed to squeeze in to his presidency.

“I think my irons are good, my drive is straight but unimpressive in length and my putting’s decent, chipping is OK,” Obama has admitted. “My sand game is terrible.”

It seems, then, that should Trump and Obama go head to head, then it is indeed Mr Trump who would be the likely victor.

The huge amount of golf Barack Obama played

While we are all used to seeing Trump play plenty of golf, it seems Mr Obama also got his fair share of rounds in as well.

According to numerous reports, Obama managed to squeeze in over 300 rounds during his presidential run between 2009 and 2017.

For the average player, that is a whole lot of golf. For a sitting president, it seems a big amount as well.
