Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, David Seaman has given his view on Arsenal losing out on Emi Buendia to Aston Villa.
It’s no secret that Arsenal wanted to sign Buendia earlier this summer, being strongly linked with a move for the Argentine, but Villa pipped them to the post, and Seaman is seemingly not happy about that.
What’s been said?
Seaman was speaking about Aston Villa with his co-host when the subject of Buendia came up.
“They attempted to try and get Smith Rowe, but Buendia is a fantastic addition, and that shows a lot of ambition. I honestly would have taken him for Wolves, I really would,” The podcast’s co-host said.
“They outbid Arsenal for him as well, how bad does that make us look?” Seaman said.
“You’re our nearest competition at Wolves now,” the podcast’s host replied.
“I can’t even reply to that either, because I know it’s true,” Seaman concluded

Changing of the guard
Aston Villa beat Arsenal to Buendia fair and square, and that may be a sign of things changing in English football.
Arsenal fans won’t like to hear it, but the Gunners aren’t the club they used to be, while Villa are a club on the rise, recruiting numerous exciting players and having a very exciting project.
Seaman asks, how bad does losing out on Buendia make Arsenal look? But the reality is that it’s a bi-product of their underperformance on the pitch rather than a failing behind the scenes.
Sadly for Arsenal, losing out on deals to the likes of Villa may become more of a regular occurrence in the coming years.
