HITC understands that Aston Villa will not be selling one key youngster this summer despite interest from other Premier League clubs.

Unai Emery’s Aston Villa are already preparing to lose Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz as the former Manchester City ace closes in on a move to Juventus.

Villa will receive highly rated winger Samuel Iling-Junior as well as Argentine midfielder Enzo Barrenchea in return as part of the deal for Luiz’s move to Turin.

Profit & sustainability rules is one aspect that the club will have to be weary of but with the sale of Luiz, this is set to help the Villains massively.

Aston Villa adamant exciting midfielder will not be leaving

Sources have told HITC that one player who the club will not be losing this summer under any circumstances is Jacob Ramsey.

Ramsey’s name had previously emerged as someone who could be sold due to Villa’s worries over PSR this summer, but HITC is told by sources close to the club that he is no longer a possible sale.

HITC understands that Emery personally stepped in to make it clear to the club’s football director Monchi that the Villains could not lose the English midfielder as he was too important to the club’s future to let him go.

As mentioned, with the club and Emery keen on not losing Ramsey, they instead sanctioned the departure of 26-year-old Luiz to help with the club’s financial position.

Villa’s stance made clear after Tottenham Hotspur bid

Sources have confirmed to HITC that Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur have made an offer to the Midlands club to sign Ramsey.

The offer was understood to be in the region of £20 million plus Argentine midfielder Giovani Lo Celso. Real Betis this week poured cold water on the idea of signing the Argentine midfielder from Spurs this summer.

Villa were one of the sides who are understood to be interested in the Argentine, who has had a rather inconsistent time in North London.

However, despite their interest in Lo Celso, those at Villa Park have made it clear to the Lilywhites, and any other interested party, that he is not for sale this summer.
