As the season draws to a close, we catch up with the players who left Swansea City this season.
Andrew Ayew
Ayew’s big-money move to West Ham United got off to a nightmare start when the Ghanaian international picked up a hamstring injury 35 minutes into his league debut.
After returning to the starting line-up in November, Ayew finally bagged his first goal for the club on Boxing Day during a 4-1 demolition of the Swans. He has gone on to add another four goals to his tally, including the opener against Sunderland earlier this month.
Ashley Williams
Williams ended his eight-year association with Swansea to sign with Ronald Koeman’s Everton in the summer.
He has since been key presence in the Toffees push for Europa League football, only missing two Premier League games all season. In this time, the Welsh international helped transform Everton’s defence by notching up 12 clean sheets – the 4th best record in the division.
Neil Taylor
In January, Taylor moved to Championship side Aston Villa as part of a deal which saw Jordan Ayew head to the Liberty.
Taylor, who drew criticism for his tackle on Seamus Coleman while on international duty, is first-choice left-back under Steve Bruce. Like Williams, he has played a role in his side’s improved defensive fortunes, racking up eight clean sheets in twelve games.
Alberto Paloschi
The forward’s brief spell in England came to a close with a switch to Italian outfit Atalanta in July. Despite his team’s success as Serie A’s surprise package, Paloschi, 27, has endured a frustrating campaign, having failed to find the back of the net in 12 appearances.
Eder
On the back of his European Championship heroics, Eder signed for Ligue 1 side LOSC Lille.
The towering Portuguese forward has been a regular starter for the mid-table club this campaign. Eder, who failed to score during his time with the Swans, has found the net on six occasions for Lille, including their third against Guingamp last weekend.
Lee Lucas
Academy graduate Lucas is now playing his football in the Scottish Premiership with Motherwell. The central midfielder enjoyed a run of games over the winter period but hasn’t featured again the league since the 7-2 defeat to Aberdeen midway through February.
Daniel Alfei
Fellow academy prospect Alfei turns out for Welsh Premier League team Aberstwyth Town. The right-back has made 17 appearances so far and captained his side to a 2-0 victory over Llandudno earlier this month.
