Yannick Bolasie
Bolasie has endured a frustrating first season on Merseyside following his big-money move to Everton in the summer.
The skilful winger had already racked up four assists before he suffered a serious knee injury in December. Bolasie, 27, is aiming to be fully fit by the end of 2017.
Alex McCarthy
It has been a similarly disappointing story for goalkeeper McCarthy.
The Southampton man picked up a hamstring injury in October and is yet to make his first-team return. McCarthy’s only appearances for the Saints came in the early rounds of the EFL Cup, which they went on to reach the final of.
Adrian Mariappa
Marriappa has seen his opportunities limited upon his return to Vicarage Road.
The 30-year-old’s only league appearances of the season have come in recent weeks. Despite helping the Hornets to shut outs against West Bromwich Albion and Swansea City, he was dropped for the ill-fated trip to Hull City last weekend.
Dwight Gayle
Gayle could be back in the Premier League next season after winning promotion with Newcastle United.
The forward has fired 22 goals so far this season, making him the Magpies’ top-scorer – and the third highest in the division. Gayle, who netted hat-tricks against Norwich City and Birmingham City, is currently out with a hamstring injury that has disrupted periods of his campaign.
Mile Jedinak
It has been more challenging in the Championship for former Palace captain Jedinak.
The Australian international is a regular in Aston Villa’s underachieving side. He has found better form with the arrival of Steve Bruce at Villa Park, helping his team to eight clean sheets in their last 12 fixtures.
Marouane Chamakh
Following his release from Selhurst Park in the summer, Chamakh waited until October before signing with Neil Warnock Championship strugglers Cardiff City. He only managed 38 minutes of football for the Bluebirds until his release in December. He is still without a club.
Emmanuel Adebayor
Chamakh’s old Arsenal and Palace teammate Adebayor now turns out for Turkish side Basaksehir.
He joined the Istanbul-based club in late January but had to wait until last month to make his league debut. Since then, the 33-year-old has shown signs of his best form with five goals in six appearances, including a hat-trick in the 4-0 win over Galatasaray.
