The forward has been in fine form for Arsenal so far.

As the international break once again sees the domestic calendar halted, it is fair to Arsenal will consider it a job well done so far.

After 11 games of the season, they sit fourth in the table and just two points behind league leaders Liverpool.

Arsene Wenger’s decision to move Alexis Sanchez to a central striker role has been key to their success, with the Chilean so far impressing in the role.

He is earning rave reviews from fans and pundits alike, and is worthy of them, but how does his form this season compare to the same period last year? We have taken a look at the stats to find out.

Surprisingly he is registering fewer shots per game and fewer shots on target per game compared to last season.

His shooting accuracy has taken a considerable upturn, though, rising from 12% to 19%. His goal tally remains the same, with six to his name in each campaign.

Passing wise he has been less efficient, registering fewer accurate passes per game and a lower overall pass accuracy than last season but his number of key passes has risen from 1.73 to 2.1.

That has seen his umber of assists rise from zero last season to three so far in this campaign.

In truth, these stats are somewhat surprising given how well Sanchez has been performing so far and neither he nor Arsenal are likely to be looking back if he continues to impress.
