Tony Bellew has told Jamie Carragher that Everton fans will be ‘silent’ if Liverpool supporters start chanting Rafa Benitez’s name, as he told Ladbible TV.
Everton and Liverpool will lock horns for the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park at the end of November.
For Benitez, he is used to standing in the opposition dugout and getting pelters from the blue half.
But it might just be the other way around this time around and not many expected that a couple of months ago.
Although, Carragher cheekily asked former cruiserweight champion and boyhood Evertonian, Bellew, this following question.
“The first derby is at Goodison,” said Carragher. “Liverpool go 1-0 up and Liverpool fans start chanting Rafa Benitez’s name. How will that stadium react?”
Bellew responded: “You thought about this. It’s horrible this. It will be silent, nothing we can really say. What can we do? It’s nothing.”

The early few games of Benitez’s reign are going to be very, very crucial.
The first Merseyside derby isn’t until the back end of November, so if Benitez doesn’t start well then it wouldn’t be a surprise if he lasts that long.
But then again, with such a strong tide again the Spanish coach, he can use that to his advantage and steer Everton towards those European places.
And if things get off to a flying fashion then a lot of the past will be quickly forgotten about.
