Daniel Gabbidon has let rip at Tottenham on Twitter after they suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Everton on Sunday afternoon.

The former Wales international stated that Jose Mourinho’s side were a ‘horrible team’ to watch in their Premier League opener.

When these two sides previously met after football restarted towards the back end of last season, a lot was made at how drab both sides looked, at that time.

But since then, Everton have made some serious moves in the transfer market, which paid off yesterday, whilst Mourinho’s men didn’t look any different than last time out.

This was picked up by former West Ham player Gabbidon, who was pretty savage in his assessment, and even predicted that Mourinho’s men will end up being ‘bottom’ of the possession stats this season.

There is a lot of pressure on Mourinho this season because if Spurs fail to pick up the points, the style in which they play will be highlighted more frequently.

Mourinho’s job is to get Tottenham back into the Champions League and add a trophy to their cabinet.

But, at this moment in time, there shouldn’t be an overreaction simply because it’s only the first game of the season and there is still a lot to play for.

Then again, Mourinho is in charge and there’s always drama surrounding the self-proclaimed ‘special one’.
