It was a dark day for Celtic at Parkhead earlier.
Neil Lennon’s side slumped to a 2-0 defeat by Ross County in this second-round Betfred Cup clash.
With Celtic bottom of their Europa League group after winning just one point and losing 4-1 to Sparta Prague in midweek, and trailing Rangers – who have played two games more – by 11 points in the Scottish Premiership, this is swiftly becoming a crisis for the Hoops.
The hosts fell behind in the first half when Ross Stewart fired County ahead from the penalty spot on 39 minutes.
And it was a clumsy challenge from Celtic defender Christoper Jullien which led to the decision.
And Tam McManus has slated the French centre-back’s ‘horrendous defending’ and claimed that he just can’t see how Lennon survives this latest setback.
Is McManus right? Probably.
It’s probably the end for Lennon at Celtic this time. Their Premiership and Europa League form is one thing, but this is their worst defeat of the season when you consider the opposition and it’s just so hard to see how he’s going to get the players back onside.
