The Celtic goalkeeper was guilty of an error this afternoon.
Michael Stewart has questioned Scott Bain’s goalkeeping for the first goal Celtic conceded today.
Neil Lennon’s side coasted to a 5-2 win at Motherwell but they had to come from behind after Liam Donnelly fired the Fir Park side ahead on 12 minutes.
The Celtic stopper could and perhaps should have done better, but Donnelly’s effort squirmed past him.
And Stewart has written on Twitter that it was ‘horrendous’ goalkeeping.
The good news for Bain is that he doesn’t have an extensive catalogue of goalkeeping gaffes to his name, but it has been a concerning start to the season.
Up until now, the Scot, who joined Celtic 18 months ago, has been the model of consistency and reliability for the most part.
Thing is, errors can be debilitating for a player in any position, but they can be particularly ravenous for goalkeepers’ confidence and time will tell whether this has an effect on him.
