Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to react after Joe Gelhardt withdrew from the England Under-20 squad, due to an injury problem.
What’s the story?
Well, Gelhardt was missing from the 1-1 draw between Leeds and Leicester, and it seems he hasn’t been able to shake off the problem.
The 19-year-old was called up by Andy Edwards alongside Sam Greenwood, Lewis Bate and Cody Drameh – the latter has since been promoted to the Under-21 side.
Sadly for Gelhardt, he will not be able to join his Leeds teammates when England Under-20 take on Portugal, as he travels back to Thorp Arch.
Now, Leeds will focus on getting the £1m man ready for the clash with Tottenham, which falls on Sunday 21st November.
That seems like the sensible thing to do – Gelhardt is still a young man, and Leeds must manage his injuries properly.
Blessing in disguise for Leeds and Joe Gelhardt?

While it’s a shame that Gelhardt will miss the clash with Portugal, it could be a blessing in disguise for him to return to Yorkshire.
At Thorp Arch, where Marcelo Bielsa currently is, the teenager will have the chance to work closely with the Argentine.
In fact, with plenty of first-teamers missing, the training ground could be so empty that Gelhardt even gets some one-on-one time.

Of course, he’s injured, but in terms of video analysis and ironing out creases in Gelhardt’s game, he and Bielsa can get through plenty together.
It could well be a blessing in disguise for the exciting prospect.
For now, let’s see what the Leeds fans on Twitter have been saying about Gelhardt’s injury…
