David Moyes has told West Ham United’s official website that he wants to put Jesse Lingard in his squad immediately this week.
West Ham have brought in Lingard from Manchester United on loan until the end of the season.
The attacking midfielder did not feature for West Ham against Liverpool yesterday, as he watched his team fall to a 3-1 defeat at the London Stadium.
And Moyes says that he now wants to introduce Lingard to his squad on Wednesday evening, when his side take on Aston Villa.
“Hopefully Jesse is fine for midweek at Aston Villa and we can add him to the group because we just can’t afford to pick up any injuries,” Moyes said.
“Hopefully we’re OK at the moment but we’ll have to wait and see.”
Whether Lingard will be included from the start or kept on the bench remains to be seen.

West Ham’s attackers surely couldn’t have too many complaints if they were replaced by Lingard after yesterday’s showing, though.
The Hammers were presented with an opportunity against an under-strength Liverpool side, but they were not able to take their chance.
West Ham just didn’t cause the likes of Jordan Henderson or Nathaniel Phillips many problems, with most their attacking players putting in below-par displays.
