Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, David Seaman has been previewing the north London derby this weekend.

Arsenal face Spurs in one of the Premier League’s most eagerly-anticipated fixtures on Saturday afternoon, and this one should be incredibly tight.

Arsenal are top of the league while Spurs are unbeaten so far, so it’s almost impossible to separate these two teams.

This match may genuinely come down to which team is feeling fitter on the day, and Seaman believes Arsenal may have the edge in that area.

Indeed, the pundit points out that both Harry Kane and Eric Dier have played 180 minutes of football for England over the past week, so he thinks they could be feeling fatigued heading into this match.

Kane and Dier may not be 100%

Seaman made a claim about Kane and Dier.

“Yeah but you’ve got Kane and Dier returning from 180 minutes of international football. So they’ll be tired – hopefully. But yeah, as you say it’s so close, they have quality on the bench as well,” Seaman said.

Arsenal in better shape

Seaman makes a great point about the internationals, and in all honesty, Arsenal should be in better shape here.

Their three Brazilians didn’t go off on international duty, Bukayo Saka started on the bench against Germany, while Ben White didn’t get called-up for England.

For Spurs, on the other hand, Dier and Kane played every minute for England, Richarlison was on Brazil duty, while Heung-Min Son played and scored for South Korea in both of their games.

These games can so often be about the finest of margins, and the difference in fatigue after the international break may well be the thing that swings this in Arsenal’s favour.
