Aston Villa fans have reacted to Trezeguet’s Twitter post where he is pictured alongside Liverpool winger Mo Salah days after that 7-2 win.
Also in the picture is Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny, as well as West Brom centre-back Ahmed Hegazi.
Only on Sunday, Aston Villa recorded an astonishing 7-2 win over the champions, with Salah netting two goals in consolation during the game and Trezeguet supplying an assist.
Villa fans were quick to ask their player whether he is reminding Salah of Sunday’s scoreline and giving him stick for it.
Another section even joked that Trezeguet was just posing with fans, as some even questioned whether the Villa man mentioned the result to Salah.
Regardless of what happens this season, those two games on Sunday – Manchester United 1-6 Tottenham and Aston Villa 7-2 Liverpool – will live long in the memory of supporters.
Whilst Villa would have backed themselves to beat the champions given their strong start to the campaign, no-one would have envisaged what happened on that evening on Sunday.
