Sokratis has sent an emotional message to Arsenal forward Pierre Emerick Aubameyang after last night’s game.
Sokratis was part of the Olympiacos squad who beat Arsenal 1-0, just months after the Greek central-back’s move away from the Emirates Stadium.
The experienced defender actually played well on the night, but Olympiacos just couldn’t overturn the deficit, despite a spirited display.
Sokratis sent a message saying how disappointed he was to see his side go out and also had time to message Arsenal striker Aubameyang this morning, suggesting he is hoping last night isn’t the last time they face off against each other.
Aubameyang actually had one of his more quiet nights for Arsenal yesterday in defeat.
The rapid forward couldn’t find the back of the net, despite having plenty of opportunities to do so.
Arsenal’s defeat in the contest was a disappointment, but ultimately it did not cost them too heavily, due to they advantage they had on aggregate.
Arsenal will find out their opponents in the next round of the competition later today, when they draw is made.
