Some Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to comments from Gareth Southgate on Jordan Henderson.

England head coach Southgate has suggested that Henderson could miss the European Championship in the summer of 2021 due to injury.

The Liverpool midfielder has not been in action since last month when he picked up a groin injury against Everton.

As reported by Sky Sports, the 30-year-old was expected to be on the sidelines for five weeks.

However, Southgate has suggested that the former Sunderland star could be out for much longer, casting doubt on his availability for the European Championship.

Southgate told Sky Sports: “We know it’s going to be close to the end of the season and we will just have to see how it goes. We are conscious that with any injury of that nature, there is a guide and a time defined but that anything can happen along the way.

“In terms of promises, we can only say that Hendo himself is very optimistic about how the operation went and the prognosis that the specialist has given him as to what is possible.”

Henderson is an important player for Liverpool and England, and both the Reds and the Three Lions could do with him in the teams.

Missing the European Championship would be a massive blow for the Liverpool star, but it would also allow him to get some rest and get ready for next season.
