Some Liverpool fans on social media are growing increasingly excited after seeing reports linking them with a summer move for Donyell Malen.
The Dutch striker has been lighting up the Eredivisie this term, netting 15 goals in 26 appearances, and Liverpool are reportedly keen to bring him to Anfield.
The Reds have previously had great success when signing attackers from the Netherlands, with the likes of Luis Suarez and Dirk Kuyt becoming Anfield heroes, so we can only hope that Malen would be able to follow in their footsteps.
Reds supporters are getting excited about this rumour, and it’s not hard to understand why.
Liverpool need a striker. Roberto Firmino has struggled for goals this term, and the front-three needs a revamp, and if Malen came in, he’d certainly shake things up.
It remains to be seen whether or not this is a deal Liverpool can get over the line, but if Michael Edwards can pull this one off, it would certainly be a popular transfer amongst supporters.
