Jamie Carragher has said on talkSPORT that he hopes that rumours linking Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool with Jude Bellingham are true.
The former Liverpool defender believes that Bellingham would be a brilliant signing for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
The Sky Sports pundit is hoping that Liverpool get a deal done for the 19-year-old England international midfielder.
The Sunday World journalist Kevin Palmer reported on Twitter last week that Liverpool have already made “initial moves” to sign Bellingham next summer, and that the former Birmingham City youngster himself is aware of interest in him from the Merseyside club.
Jamie Carragher on Jude Bellingham to Liverpool rumours
Carragher said on talkSPORT, as transcribed by The Express: “Well I’ve seen the links, of course, but I just hope they’re true.
“No one knows, do they? But there’s no doubt that Liverpool will have a huge job in the summer, or whether that’s in January, in terms of reconstructing their midfield.

“Just because of the age profile of a lot of the midfield players and also the fact that I think there’s two or three players out of contract at the end of the season.
“So before you ever even think about the actual quality of maybe something extra that they need, it’s obvious because of the situation the club finds itself in that they’ll need two or three midfield players in the summer.
“And if Jude Bellingham is one of them, fantastic, because he is a great player. And as I said, there’s going to be a lot of rumours between now and the end of the season with different midfield players. I just hope that one’s true.”
Could a transfer happen?
In our view, Liverpool could be able to sign Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2023, but not in the middle of the season.
Dortmund do tend to sell their best players for huge transfer fees, and if Liverpool are willing to pay what the German club want, then they would be able to sign him.
Liverpool are one of the biggest clubs in the world and are a global brand, and Bellingham would find the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners very appealing.
