
Tottenham fans praised Oliver Skipp for his performance on Sunday despite England U21’s suffering another crushing defeat.
It’s back-to-back losses for England’s youngsters in the group stages of the European Championships, as they are, more than likely, heading for an early exit.
Tottenham’s academy product has started both games – playing in the number six role – and impressing his fans back in North London.
Even though Aidy Boothroyd has struggled to get the best out of a talented bunch of England youngsters, the Tottenham fans think their future star is playing like someone beyond his years.
There were in actual fact three Tottenham players in the starting XI yesterday Skipp himself, Japhet Tanganga and Ryan Sessegnon.
It could be argued that all three might just be donning the Tottenham shirt next season because Jose Mourinho does need to refresh his side from back to front.
Tottenham fans are also well aware of the performances Skipp is putting in for Championship leaders Norwich City, week in and week out.
And aside from a capitulation, Daniel Farke’s men should be heading back to the Premier League, so it will be interesting to see if they try and snap him up again, either on a permanent basis or another loan deal.
Either way, with the England U21’s facing more humiliation, Skipp was being praised for being a rare bright spark:
